What are customers are saying

"The whole experience of shopping here for my mace pepper spray was very convenient. I feel like I'm getting a high-quality product for a great price with no hassle. I will be using the keychain for self-defense purposes to and from my car. Thanks! " -Bethany H.,

Austin TX "In my line work we deal with angry drunk people… in most case groups of drunk angry people. Things can get real nasty some times. I have not found any thing better for clearing the fighting group of people than the pepperspray fogger. I have had biggest, meanest angry drunks stop fighting after few shots in air... including servicemen who are used to CS gas who back away at just a whiff of this stuff. It really helps out a lot in my job. I use up a can of it up every month! "

Michigan Approved Mace Brand Pepper Spray

Michigan residents may know that many of the standard self defense sprays that are used all over the country are not legal in their state. For those who aren't aware of this fact, take a look at a canister that is for sale at a retail location within MI. They all say "Michigan Approved" because they must have that phrase on them to be legally sold in The Great Lakes State.

The reason for this is that Michigan has some very particular rules about what types of defense sprays may be legally purchased. The kind that is allowed is known as CS Spray, and there are specific limitations for the ingredients that make it up. Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) is the term used for the blisteringly hot extract taken from cayenne peppers that is the active ingredient in every type of pepper spray. This inflammatory substance makes up an incredible 10% of most defense sprays, but in Michigan the highest level of OC allowed is 2%. That may seem like a significant difference, but even 2% of this blazing hot stuff is enough to stop an aggressor from attacking you and make them clutch their face in pain as their skin burns, eyes water and they choke uncontrollably. Another regulation that is unique to Michigan is that every bottle of pepper spray must contain no more than 35 grams, roughly the equivalent to 1 ounce.

All pepper spray in Michigan must meet the exact requirements stipulated by the state. Any other mixture of the spray is strictly prohibited. Another rule that governs the use of Michigan approved pepper spray is that it can only be legally used against someone who is attempting to assault you. This law is standard all across the United States. It is always a crime to use any pepper spray or other defense weapon against an innocent person. That would be considered assault, and will place you in the category of criminal instead of victim.

The Mace brand produces several types of pepper spray that are approved for sale in Michigan. They canisters are made in different sizes, colors and styles. Look through the allowable sprays we have available to see which works best for you. Each one is lightweight, easy to carry and effective from several feet away. You may even purchase spray that contains UV dye, which will make it easy for the police to identify any aggressor that you were forced to shoot for your own protection.
